For sale is a super nice advertising clock for Sealtest Ice Cream by the PAM Clock Co. of New Rochelle, N.Y. made in 1959. Clock has been tested and is in working condition. Both lights are functional and illuminates the clock face nicely. The clock face is white with a red rectangular box in the center that reads “Sealtest Ice Cream”. The numbered hours are spaced along the outer edge of the face in dark blue. Design colors overall are very bright and attractive. Looks to be a hint of fading on the right side of the center red box. Also, with close examination, it appears there is minor paint separation on the inside of the cover. As a note, I’m a member of a FB clock restoration page and it was recommended that only low wattage bulbs be used to prevent this from occurring. Clock has a metal (possibly brass) backing and trim along the edges. The trim pieces have surface rust and feel tight along frame so I did not attempt to remove. The hour and second hands are a black metal and show some age/discoloration. As mentioned, the clock is in working condition and currently keeps time well. When the item was first plugged in and checked for functionality the hands moved counterclockwise for aprox five mins or so then reversed to operate normally and held the appropriate time. I was advised by a member of the clock repair group to try splicing the wire to replace w a newer cord. This was done and since the clock has been tested periodically w no further malfunctions to note. It appears this corrected the problem but wanted to provide this information for buyer to use as a starting point in the event this is experienced again down the road. Item previously belonged to my father who owned it for years but as I understand it was originally acquired from a small town in Southern, VA. This is a nice example of mid-century advertising and is a great item of interest that would be great to display in a home or man cave.
