The clock does work but whomever converted the clock to a normal quartz movement (battery operated) did not secure the dial and movement good enough and it does move freely inside around the glass area. The does not affect the clock in any major way and the clock will run with a battery. A battery can be inserted by removing the back panel (held on with one screw nut).
