Vintage Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock No. 103 - Item number 2181
Finished in black and red Adamantine buffed to a mirror finish
4 column - Ornate bezel and dial - Lion heads on sides - White and black inlay finish
Bezel and dial are new 4 1/2" time ring - Arabic numerals - New glass
Time ring is un-drilled for winders so you can match it to your movement or add a quartz movement - Your choice
All matching hardware - Large ornate feet - Lion's heads - Original Seth Thomas labels
I believe the feet are not original to this clock as they don't match the witness marks
but compliment the case
Clock case has not been altered in any way from the original
Case is ready to accept a mechanical movement (alignment will be necessary)
or, if you prefer, a quartz chiming movement.
Clock does have a manufacture month/date visible - Appears to be 1899 -Difficult to read
Clock has been completely dis-assembled, cleaned of all tobacco and residue, buffed and polished, re-assembled
and fitted with a new bezel, dial, and glass
While the case is in excellent condition, there are flaws to the adamantine veneer - It is not perfect after 120 years
Very elegant piece ready for a movement.
