Item Description Great old lever clock recently picked up at an auction. Check out this unique ship's wheel case that is all wood. I have not found another one like it online. All the wheel's spindles are there. I see no damage, cracks or missing pieces on the case. The wood case is not one piece of wood, but many that have been fitted together. The case appears to be made of oak. The clock appears to be a Seth Thomas lever, but you be the judge before acquiring it. Have not taken the back off of the clock to look at the movement. Clock Doc took a look at it and thought it might have had an adamantine cover over the wood case and that the ship wheel spindles may have been added after the fact, but again have come across many clocks over the years that never saw one of before, so again not quit sure what we are dealing with here Nice glass and bezel over the paper face. Not quite sure of the year made. Also, looks like a Seth Thomas lever clock, but did not pull it apart to look at the movement, so just an educated guess. The clock both keeps time and the seconds hand piece still work. The clock has two key winds that run the clock only. No strike with this clock. With both clocks fully wound the clock would run for eight days. The clock is 12.5" across and 3.5" wide. Comes with a winding key. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art.
