This antique pendulum mantle clock from RIVIÈRE Studios is a beautiful piece. It has the grapevine pattern made famous by Tiffany and Company New York, then replicated by Rivière Studios. It has a French Japy Freres clock movement inside. The emblem it has dates it between the years 1855 to 1867, the years they won the award at the Paris exposition and were allowed to display this emblem. The clock measures 7 inches wide, 4-1/2 inches deep, and 12-3/4 inches tall. It displays beautifully and has wonderful color. It runs and bell chimes when level. It had a prior small foot weld that needs repaired, welded or cemented. I currently prop the leg piece under it. It has a small hairline crack in the front glass noticeable when lit from inside. Please see pictures of the front to view the crack. Tape was placed on the front of it at some point in its past history to secure the face cover. The tape glue lightened the patina in those areas. It may be able to have a polish put on it to darker those areas. It never bothered me, so I never tried to darken it.It could use another intense cleaning of her outside glass and it would make her really shine. It should also have her internal parts professionally cleaned. It is necessary with clocks her age to keep her movements working properly and free of any dust or debris. It truly is a beautiful piece of art and history! It has a lovely bell chine. Please see pictures and email with any questions.
