Repurposed Apple Time Capsule Clock - A1302

Apple Time Capsule Clock This clock was created by repurposing a nonfunctioning Apple Time Capsule.  The Apple Time Capsule was taken apart and all of the electronic parts from inside were removed.  A hole was drilled through the the top of the Time Capsule.  Then, a clock motor was installed inside.  The bottom plate and rubber cover of the Time Capsule were reinstalled. Parts Used to create this clock: Apple Time Capsule:  Model A1302.  Production Year - 2008 Clock Motor:  Salvaged from a clock purchased at a local Goodwill store This clock requires one AA battery for operation.  Battery included. Note:  This Apple Time Capsule is a clock.  It no longer functions as a Time Capsule. This Apple Time Capsule Clock would make a great gift for anyone interested in Apple Computer products, someone that enjoys unusual eclectic items, or just anyone that wants something a little off the beaten path to tell the time. This repurpose project was completed by The 386 Experience. The 386 Experience works to divert vintage electronics from being thrown away.   The 386 Experience exists to promote the continued use of vintage computers and electronics.  As these systems and software age,  there are fewer and fewer of them available.  Much of the software is discarded as "useless" and the hardware is thrown away for being "obsolete."  We want to rescue the software and electronics before they vanish from existence.  Computer users with knowledge of how to use and repair these systems are still around and it is our responsibility to pass this knowledge on to future generations.  There was a time when you used a typewriter to type a letter, a 8-Track tape to listen to an album, and a dial up modem to connect to the internet.  If we cannot repair a device, we work to repurpose the item so that it can continue to be enjoyed - this Apple Time Capsule Clock is one way we've found to repurpose otherwise nonfunctioning Apple Time Capsules.
