Rare Tiffany Antique French Gilded Bronze & White Carrara Marble Lyre

French Tiffany and Co 19th Century Gilded Bronze and White Carrara Marble Lyre Clock with an Oscillating Ring of Brilliants, Striking Movement, in Fully Working Condition
The white Carrara marble case mounted with ormolu classical and floral ornamentation, the top sunburst with smiling mask (symbolic of Apollo, the sun god) above a fruit and foliage festoon.
White enamel dial with delicate polychrome painted floral swags, Arabic numeral hour markers, chapter ring with minute divisions encircled by Arabic numbers designating 5-minute intervals with fancy pierced, engraved and gilded lyre form hands.
8-day, two train pendule de Paris movement striking the hour and half hour on a bell. Pendulum with ring of brilliant rhinestones encircling the dial.
Impressive clock in a very famous and highly collectable lyre style.
There are only a few other such original French clocks listed on eBay. This is currently the only Tiffany branded lyre clock for sale on Ebay. Past sales of Tiffany clocks sell much higher.
It is a famous type of a French clock manufactured for Tiffany and Company. Bronze casting is fine and ornate. The movement is fully functional and clean, with its original complicated knife-edge compound pendulum with a ring of brilliants.
These clocks are for the experienced collectors to set up - its pendulum not only needs to be properly and very carefully balanced left-to-right (like any other pendulum-based clock), but also front to back to ensure that the pendulum does not bind the case. If you are not experienced in this, you will need to invite someone to help you balance it at your house. Due to vibration during shipping, it will need some fine tuning.
Hand painted ornate porcelain dial is superb, so are the ornate lyre shaped hands. Comes with the original key. Pictures speak for themselves, please highlight photos. There are some patina from years of exposure and service (screw heads have wear and 3 brass caps missing on back side. Also crack in marble, doesn't affect operation)

This clock, like any other pendulum-based clock, has to be put in-beat when setting it up after shipping, otherwise it may not run. There are many videos online showing how to do this and I am happy to help with advice as well.
