Beautiful Working Antique New Haven “Willard” Banjo Wall Clock 30 Day Movement
Excellent condition, both reverse painted panels are in remarkable condition.
Clock keeps excellent time
Springs have been let out and cleaned
Patent date for Willard Clock is 1802, I think this was manufactured in the1800s.
Side rails and eagle finial have been gold gilded and properly remounted.
Some face numbers have been retouched.
Although clock has original parts, the pendulum bob is not original. I have soldered a flat washer on the back to make 4 1/2” oz weight to regulate the clock. As the pendulum is not displayed, it is behind a door.
If it’s important to you, Merritts Clock Supply sells replacement Bob, part #200.
Clock has been running beautifully for over 8 weeks with no problems.
But as with all antique clocks after delivery, it may need adjustments
to be done either by you or a professional to run smoothly again. Although, everything is working properly as of now, clock is sold as is without guarantees or refunds.
Measurements
41 1/2” tall from bottom to top of eagle finial
12 1/4” wide x 4 3/4” deep
Bezel is copper not brass, glass for bezel is dome shaped.
Signed by C.E.B. ‘88 on reverse side of painting, lower right hand. So I guess it means 1888. See photo.
