PARTS REPAIR Seiko World Travel Alarm Clock quartz made in Japan

CONDITION: For PARTS or REPAIR!  There appears to be corrosion in the battery compartment.  I attempted to install a new battery, but this clock did not appear to work (though admittedly, this could be user error as well).  The hands move freely when the dials on the rear are used for manual adjustment.  The plastic cover to the battery compartment has wear from being opened and closed, likely with flathead screwdrivers.  Please see all photos as well.
DESCRIPTION: This is a Seiko World Travel Alarm Clock.  It has a small fold out stand attached to the back which allows it to be small to carry but also capable of standing upright on its own.  This clock was made in Japan. I am uncertain of the age, but it is likely well over a decade old, possibly purchased in the 2000s or so. The outer dial with world locations turns about the clock smoothly.  This clock is about 3 inches in diameter.  Again, this clock does not appear to work with a battery installed.
