NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO. BANJO CLOCK Originally designed by Simon Willard and patented in 1802; the banjo clock is one of the most distinctive clock case styles. This particular rendition was manufactured by the New Haven Clock Company and displays most of the traits of the original Willard clock. The case is of mahogany and reverse painted glass. The glass tablet in the lower door is a depiction of two lovers. The painted dial is still in wonderful condition and signed New Haven. The clock movement has been replaced by a much newer movement and works well. SEE PHOTOS The 8 day spring powered movement chimes the hour on the hour and once on the half hour.
