Red-bordered, Continental-sized (approx 4x6) chrome postcard with a view of the Clock Gate at the heart of Youghal, County Cork, Ireland. Front caption reads, "Clock Gate" and "Youghal". Back caption reads, "CLOCK GATE, MAIN STREET, YOUGHAL, CO. CORK. Youghal is one of the foremost resorts of County Cork situated at the mouth of the Blackwater River with a fine strand and every holiday amenity. Youghal was occupied by the Danes, then the Normans, receiving its first charter from King John. Youghal was fortified with walls and towers, most of which still remain.
