I had 5 more of these glass vials specially made to order , made by hand, to fit the single jar mercury compensating pendulums found in the large grandfather-tall clock movements such as 9 and 5 tube clocks made by Herschede, Horner, Walter Durfee, Tobey, Waltham and others.
The Tran Duy ly Longcase clocks book shows that these pendulums were made by Herschede, but were adapted to fit many manufacturers clocks.
I hunted for a LONG time to find a glass shop that could, and would make them!
And of course... not cheap.
This is the third batch of 5.
The cost went up to have this batch made, but I am absorbing the price increase.
190 mm high, 57mm in diameter, and 3mm thick. Top edge ground flat.
The pendulum shown is off a Durfee pattern 5, that was missing the vial and mercury.
