George Nelson Ball Clock - Multicolor Iconic MCM Design - Works Great! Mid-Century Modern George Nelson Ball Clock. Possibly the most recognized wall clock in modern day history. This fabulous 50s styled wall clock was designed over 75 years ago. The popular story of its origin claims that it was concieved by George Nelson, Irving Harper, Buckminster Fuller and Isamu Noguchi during a night of drinking in 1947. Like many iconic MCM designs it is unmistakeably inspired by the space-age atomic period of the late 1940's. It is perfect for your retro-styled modern home decor. This clock is battery powered with 1 AA battery, ( battery not included), and has a quartz driven mechanism. The metal casing is heavy duty enamel coated steel. The clock is in very good used condition. It keeps time accurately.
