French Chinoiserie Gilded Bronze Table Clock, Circa 1860-1900. This clock was part of a Beverly Hills Mid-Century home (Trousdale Estates)
for more than 40 years. It was curated as part of the Asian design of the household.
As described by a recent estate appraisal:
Possibly Barbedienne or Christofle, Circa 1860-1900.
Designed as a Chinese "spirit screen" hung with a cushion shape clock enclosed by two dragons (liung); the screen cast with an open-work of keyfrets, flowers, and curling vines.
Condition: Fine
Clock not working.
Height: 16 1/2 inches.
Appraised value $3,500.00 in 2003. Present day value beyond $7,000.00 according to estate appraiser.
