Up for auction/sale is a
vintage wind up Swiss travel clock which was made by the Cyma Watch Company and
has an remarkable retro/atomic look about it topped with an art deco styled crown
and jet black depression button. From what I read about this style of CYMA
travel clock and from various old advertisements, I believe this clock dates
circa 1950s. The clock is functional and kept
good time but does require winding each day. The depressions button at the
crown and the alarm work but the clock emits a single ding not a trill (I do
not know if this is correct). I believe the body is primarily brass, the
enameled ring is an aged cream in color, there is one small scratch on the
glass nearly dead center of the dial face, and there are signs of tarnish to
the brass, but the clock has an amazing presentation and functions very well for
being 70 years old. The rough overall measurements are 2 5/8" tall, the face
has a 2 1/2" diameter, and has a 1 1/4" depth (front to back). I have described this clock
as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided several high-resolution
images from varying angles to allow for a detailed review of quality, condition,
and desirability. This clock will be shipped
with care to best ensure this atomic era timepiece arrives as pictured and
described. If you have any questions,
additions, corrections, or concerns, feel free to message me.
