Collectibles / Decorative Collectibles / Clocks / Desk, Mantel & Shelf Clocks
This is a Mantel Clock by the Waterbury Clock Co. It looks to be early 20th century and runs well. It is an estate auction find and the finish is very scarce. It is a Camo like finish and Waterbury Clock Co. included in the 1915 catalog. There are areas that are have white-ish stains (lower left on front) but the case is free from major gouges, chips. It is an 8 Day movement, single strike at 30 using a cupped bell and then a coiled gong striking the number of hours at 60. It measures about 17" x 6 1/2" x 11". Dual columns on each side of the dial (in numerals) is distinctive. The cover when opened drops slightly due to an old hinge, which is not uncommon, is the only minor fault here. There is a speed adjustment at the top of the dial but the key does not have a fitting. However, the bob has an adjusting wheel. This was tested over a week without an issue as long as it's surface is level. Please review the photos and contact us with any questions. Thanks. Please note
relating to clock sales We sell preowned Antique
& Vintage clocks. The clocks that come to us are very old,
dusty and have likely been in storage for years. We do
not service, repair, oil or perform any maintenance on the clocks we
list. We test our clocks for a couple of days. Lately, we try to video and
post it in the listing. Any antique or vintage clock would benefit from a
professional cleaning and/or service to be scheduled every two years.
Additionally, no matter how carefully we protect our clocks in the packaging
process, handling can sometimes result in throwing off the time and strike
accuracy and necessitates a reset upon receipt. It doesn’t happen much. The
same goes with damages from mishandling. The frequency of this is low but it
happens. Should this occur save all of the packaging and take photos of the
packaging and damage. I usually can initiate a quick refund if I have these in
my possession for a damage claim submission. While, not a disclaimer, this is
just to make certain our customers understand and appreciate that while
reliable these are somewhat delicate
