This is Big Ben picture clock. The piece is in nice condition and shows only slight losses on the frame, and I’m sure the image base darkened over the years. It is a night scape of Big Ben with a working clock movement and music box. The music box is triggered every 15 minutes and plays Westminster. I believe this is a print on board with MOP inlays, then shellacked or varnished to preserve the image and stabilize the inlays. I’m not an expert so ask questions and make your own assessments. It’s an older piece, I’m guessing from the first quarter of the 20th century, but possibly earlier. The clock was wound and ran as it was hanging. It played music on the 1/4 hours. The last service is unknown and it was not tested for accuracy so it’s being sold for restoration. The movement is a bit dirty and oily so it could probably use a cleaning. The dial glue has loosened allowing the dial to spin. This is an odd and rare piece and it’s priced to sell so don’t miss it!
