From the looks of the label of the clock it was manufactured between 1885-1889. Manufacturered by Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted, CO . The glass floral scene is still intact and the clock face is sharp and well maintained The actual wood which may be Mahogany is in beautiful condition. Don't really see any dents, dings or cracks on it. Very ornate and beautiful. I wound the clock and the chime still works, the video shows the clock working well, I wound it A great piece with minimal cosmetic wear. Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer. H - 21.5" L - 13" (at base) W - 5" Case is made of solid wood, structurally sound, very ornate, and has original finish. Glass in door is original and in very good condition without any damage. Dial has Arabic numbers. Movement is an 8 day brass, time and strike movement with alarm. The time and strike movement runs and strikes as it should. It strikes the hour and half hour on a nice circular gong mounted to a heavy ornate bracket with a pleasant sounding tone. Movement is marked WM. L. GILBERT CLOCK CO., WINSTED, CONN, U.S.A. The alarm movement has not been tested but it has a good spring and strikes on a brass bell. Both the alarm movement and the brass bell are mounted on a metal bracket which is mounted to bottom of case (see photo 8). This appears to be original but I have never seen that before on a clock. Pendulum is an ornate slow / fast adjustment pendulum which is marked WM. L. GILBERT CLOCK CO. Old key operates the time and strike winding . Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
