Collectibles / Decorative Collectibles / Clocks / Desk, Mantel & Shelf Clocks
Offered here is a metal figurine or statue, that held a mantle clock. I
DO NOT HAVE THE CLOCK. I believe that this is made of bronze or brass.
(At at least has a bronze / brass surface plating.) It features a sailor
at a ship's steering wheel. At the bottom is a mythical creature, that I
THINK is a griffin. (Part lion and part eagle.) In researching this, I
found a couple of people saying that it is from 1899, around the time of
the Spanish American War. Someone else described at as being from the
1920's. Either way, it is at least 100 years old. It measures 10 &
1/4 inches tall, at the top of the sailor's hat. The base is 8 inches
wide. Except for the MISSING CLOCK, it s in VERY GOOD condition, with no
chips, cracks or breaks. Nice, all original, surface finish or patina. It
is guaranteed to be old & original or your money back.I am here to help you with any questions!
