Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique 19th Century WELCH "Verdi" Octagon Rosewood 'Time & Strike' Long Drop Victorian Regulator School House Wall Clock, made by the E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. Clock Company USA, Circa 1889. This Has a Beautiful Rosewood Veneer Mahogany Wood Case with Octagon Top and Long Drop. The Original Welch Maker's Label for this Model "Verdi" is on the Back. This Has a E.N. Welch 8 Day Brass Mechanical Wind-Up "Time & Strike" Regulator Movement, With Cathedral Gong Chime That Strikes the Correct Amount of Times On The Hour, and a Bell Chime That Strikes Once on the Half Hour. The Dial is the Original Painted Metal Dial with Roman Numerals and Seconds Sweep Hand. This includes the Adjustable Heavy Brass Bob Regulator Pendulum, and a Winding Key. The Clock is Large and measures approx. 31" Tall x 16 3/4" Wide x 4 1/2" Deep. This is in Good Original Condition, Very Clean!!! I Wound the Clock Up and it Ticks and Strikes Correctly, But Has Not Been Serviced or Tested long Term, Sold As Found! The Dial has Some Discoloration From Age, Otherwise Fine.
