Antique New Haven Westminster Chime Clock completely and properly restored.. Here is the New Haven Westminster chiming clock that features the New Haven triple plate 3 train Westminster Movement and original beautifully restored solid mahogany tambour cabinet. The cabinet has the most beautiful flame mahogany wood that I certainly have ever seen and you'd be hard pressed to find a flaw in the finish and it presents as it did nearly 100 years ago. It measures 20 and 1/2 inches long x 10 and 1/2 inches tall. The very heavy well made dial and bezel have been cleaned and polished and are in very good original condition along with the original thick beveled glass and original hour and minute hands. (Please view my 24 High Definition photos and video). The Movement has been completely disassembled and all parts cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner as well as by hand, the pivots on the wheels and arbors have all been polished properly before several bushings were installed properly in the 3 plate, 3 train movement. The 3 mainsprings have been removed from their barrels and properly cleaned and greased. The Movement was then reassembled, oiled and adjusted properly using proper horological methods. The movement has been tested for several weeks and has been keeping great time and chimes precisely on the quarter hour with the proper Westminster chime sequence of 4 notes on the quarter hour then 12 notes on the half hour etc. culminating in a full Westminster 16 note chime followed by the correct hour strike on a separate 5th chime rod. The precision tuned chime rods have a most splendid elegant sound and add to the beauty of this very special well made clock. An exquisite representation of New Haven quality ! This clock would be a beautiful addition to any mantel or in any room in any home. The clock needs to be wound weekly on all 3 arbors with the included key. I would assist with proper unpacking, setup and ongoing care as well and would also make myself available for any ongoing help needed.
