Antique Mid To Late 1800s French Ormalu Black Slate Mantle Clock & Garniture Set With Key.
This is a substantial, quality, beautiful, clock with matching garniture candlabras on either side. Etched and gold painted designs in the slate on all three pieces. Brass cherub embellishment below the clock face. The clock face is gold on black painted on metal. Understand that this is a manual, 8-day, wind up clock with a key and likely need servicing or at least adjusting. Pendulum is included.
Each garniture holds 4 candles. We've done our best to removed the wax in each of the 8 holders but some residue remains.
We haven't found a maker's mark.
Clock measures 13 1/4" wide x 5 1/4" deep x 19 1/4" tall.
Garnitures measure 8" wide x 6" deep x 16 1/8" tall.
Heavy slate item. The clock weighs 25 pounds, 12 ounces. The garnitures each weigh 3 pounds, 3 ounces. Total weight is approximately 32 pounds.
