The clock is a mechanical wind-up clock and has a traditional analog display. It is made of high-quality wood and has a multicolor hand painted finish that gives it a charming old English countryside look. Beautiful in a study, library, smoking room or on your mantle this holiday season.
The hand painted country scene is on three sides with gold detailing at the top and on the base. The condition overall is good antique. Please look at pics. The glass hinged door's tiny latch has come off and needs to be reattached. It is included. The paint isn't chipping but there are a few scratches. It just has that lovely old paint look & is over a 100yrs old.
This antique Gilbert 1807 8-day Beehive hand painted time and strike mantel or shelf clock is extremely rare. It seems to run well and strikes a gong. The key is included but is not marked.
The metal clock dial is in good condition and is marked "Gilbert". The brass ring that holds the convex glass in place is marked "Pat. Sept. 7-1920. The original Gilbert paper label is inside on the door. As with all antique clocks, there may be need for slight adjustment after shipping.
