Japy Frères FRENCH SILK THREAD MANTLE CLOCK 1830. Porcelain face with Blue & Black enamel; hand painted sevres type porcelain panels (3 along base) with fourth one below face of clock with hand painted cherub; three panels are held in by corks and slide out; figures on either side of clock - boy on one side and girl on the other, holding a garland of flowers, which goes in front; Ormolu compote with fruit on top. Circa 1830. Gilt spelter. 15”x13”x5” This clock was appraised in 1979 by Sutters Mill Antiques in Coloma, California by a AAA Member of the Appraisers Association of America. The appraised value at that time was $2700. I will include a copy of the appraisal if the buyer would like.
