Here is an antique French “Woman On A Swing” mantel clock by Eugene Farcot , having 8 day time and strike visible movement with porcelain chapter ring and Roman numerals , with the famous Farcot patent swinger escapement using double escape wheel , with cast pendulum in the form of seated figure , the movement signed, “Farcot Brevette Paris”with eagle trademark and serial/production number 41747. This unusual arrangement allows for the pendulum action to swing forward and backward instead of side to side. The carved alabaster case , surmounted by hand painted finial, is held on scrolled supports with gilt metal ornaments , on stepped alabaster platform with gilt metal feet. With matching three branch candelabra. The movement has half hour and hour strike on nickeled brass bell. A handsome ensemble for a sophisticated interior . Sold as is and as found, with age associated wear, dust accretions, soiling. Movement is running when photographed but not tested for accuracy.
