Antique circa 1850 Wm L Gilbert Ogee wall clock weight driven w key 657

This is a pre Civil War collectors clock made before 1866 by Wm. L. Gilbert at Winchester, Connecticut. In 1866 the company's name was changed from The Wm. L. Gilbert Co. to the gilbert Mfg. Co., so this clock was made prior to that date, and more likely closer to 1851, the year Gilbert bought out his partners and renamed the business. It has the original 30 hour time and strike weight driven movement.  It comes with the weights, pendulum and key. It still has the original label inside but is not very readable.   However the movement is also signed Wm. L Gilbert & Co. , Winchester, CT. The original painted dial face is in aged but pretty good condition, much better than you would expect to find on a 150 year+ old clock. (Zoom in on photos - there is some reflection in some photos) The case and finish show the expected patina for age. The case measures 25" ¼ tall x 15" wide x 4 ½" deep.  This clock will run for about a minute and then it stops.  This is being sold as-is.   Chimes work when manually activated by the rod hanging down.   I'm not an expert on these but it looks like it has been worked on in the past, which is not surprising.   It will need some work/adjustment from someone who knows about these. - see photos.      what you see is what you get.
