Antique Brass French 1800s Travel Desk Clock with Annular Date Ribbon

This listing is for a rare antique Brevete clock. I believe it has the clock face to tell time above, and then in the base it has some sort of roller mechanism that pulls a ribbon with numbers along it. I am not sure its exact purpose, as it has taken wear over the years, but perhaps it was a date device? I believe it is from the late 1800s to maybe the turn of the century, based on similar examples I have found and sold in the past- though I have never seen one that functions exactly like it. This clock is not only extremely unique looking, the way it works is interesting too! I am not sure if Brevete only made the mechanics or the entire unit.
It appears to operate by means of normal clockwork that also operates the aforementioned ribbon in some way. I am not exactly sure how the mechanics of the base work, but the upper clock portion seems to be a Brevete concealed pendulum clock, in great working condition. I have not done anything except slide the back case plate off tho see if it was working-which it is, and still is as I type. That plate has a small rim to hold it on, it was soldered and the joint needs a small repair- see photos. Bottom portion comes completely untested, upper appears to be in good working shape.
The brass body is a simple but classic style & shape, with a lovely patina. The handle on top appears to be in great original condition. The face is in great shape.
The glass is uncracked and without any major scratches, it does have one or two flake/ chip- marks , see photos, I believe it is original.
I am not sure how to access the movement, and have not tried to dismantle the casing at all so as not to cause damage. The outside has a very light patina, but from the tiny peeks you can get inside it seems the movement is clean. I have not dissembled anything that needs unscrewed in any way, as I am not an expert. I leave all tinkering up to the buyer.
This clock comes from a massive estate collection, and was extremely well cared for in a temperature controlled room. Please check back this weekend & next week for multiple other antique & unique clocks I will be listing!
