Antique 18" Cast Iron Putti/Cherubs Mantle Clock (NO KEY) This is a large and heavy clock with a cast iron face attached to a wood box that holds a brass movement. No marks of any kind to indicate maker, patent date, etc. I removed the movement for a minimal cleaning of dust, etc. The movement seemed to work for a while and then eventually stops. If you're interested in having a working clock, this one would need to be professionally serviced. For this reason, it is being sold AS-IS. I'm no clock expert, but here are my observations:
The glass pendulum door has been modified and is not really a door, but a snap-on cover in its current configuration.
There is a wire at the top (see photos) that releases the chime movement. Not sure if that was added, or what purpose it might have.
The dial door is mounted with screws from the front in a way that looks unnatural to me, as if the screws were added later.
The dimensions are approximately 18 1/4 inches tall by 14 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches deep and weighs just over 13 pounds.
