Collectibles / Decorative Collectibles / Clocks / Desk, Mantel & Shelf Clocks
This is really a great quality antique Ansonia clock. It has lots of detail and character. The material was termed Japanese Bronze by Ansonia. It also has some brass elements. The clock is approximately 21 3/4 inches tall and 19 1/2 inches wide. It has a few defects that should be noted. The Pizarro figure is missing his sword plus he may have some other missing or broken elements of the case. The clock has a pendulum and will run sporadically. I’m selling it as is, non-running, and in need of service. The strike will also need to be adjusted. In fact, the screws have been replaced on the bottom board and I’m assuming the board has been modified in some sense. In any case, I noticed that the hammer does not match up with the gong and will need to be adjusted one way or the other. The brass on the clock is pretty tarnished and could be cleaned up quite a bit. The doors, front and back will work OK, but once again, if you wanted to use the Clock extensively, they would probably need to be adjusted because they are both hard to close at times. It looks like the inner dial. also has some very faint hair lines in the center area. Please check the photos closely for complete details and condition information.
