1970s ELGIN Modernist Kieninger & Obergfell World Mantle Clock Made in Germany . This handsome mid-century clock has a fantastic Art Deco look. It is in excellent condition with some very minor wear in the brass/gold finish. It requires a C battery, but didn’t run when I put one in it. The large round 9” clock face features a white with gold world map and world time zones.
The center of the clock is the north pole. The world map is divided into time zones starting at Greenwich time, and it indicates plus or minus so you can see what time it is in other parts of the world. It also has a black and white rotating dial that indicates time and day/night in other parts of the world (controlled with a button on the back). The bottom stand is stamped: Kieninger & Obergfell Made in Germany. Measures: 9-1/8” wide x 3-1/2” deep x 10-1/2” tall. Payment P ayment is due within 3 days.
