1955 Newport Harbor "Largest Albacore ... Fishing Trophy", Marble Sessions Clock
Nice vintage clock and trophy.
Clock keeps time and works. Movement by Sessions, Model W.
Knob for adjusting time is missing so you cannot set the time. See hole in back of clock.
No cracks in the marble, heavy almost 8 pounds.
Plaque reads, "Largest Albacore, 30 LB TEST, SAM KINSFATHER, TROPHY, 1955, DOROTHY STEVIE, 24LBS, 10 OZ.
Medallion reads NEWPORT HARBOR, LADIES ANGLERS.
Tuna has the tail broken off, started to replace the tune then decided better to leave original.
The base is 9.25" by 5.25". It stands about 6.5".
What a fishing story this could tell. The Newport Harbor Lady Anglers (NHLA) was established September 13, 1949 as a women’s only deep sea fishing club. The club chartered boats out of Newport Harbor and awarded annual prizes based on the size and quantity of fish caught by each angler.
